The Disabled Student Unit participated in the ceremony held on November 7, 2022 at our Faculty of Dentistry, which received the Orange flag award in the field of Accessibility in Space within the scope of the 2022 YÖK Barrier-Free University Awards.
An informative meeting was held with our Disabled Student advisors working in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Education, the Biology Department and the Faculty of Law, about the course and exam adaptations that should be made for our disabled students studying at the Department/Faculty.
On October 10, 2022, a seminar was held for the faculty members of the Faculty of Fine Arts on 'the adaptation of courses and exams for disabled students and effective communication'.
Within the scope of the 'Introduction to University Life' course at Uni 101, 3 talks titled 'Accessible Hacettepe' were held with our students who have just started university life in the 2022-2023 academic year.
A talk on “Accessibility in Health” was held with the participation of the Association for the Visually Impaired in Education.
An online meeting was held with our disabled students who won our university in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Student satisfaction and feedback surveys prepared by our volunteer disabled students were applied to identify the problems experienced by our disabled students studying at our university regarding the distance education process and university life.
Online conversations were held within the scope of the 'Other Art' project, in which our disabled students participated as participants.
Together with our University's Community for Creativity in Social Participation, a speech on 'On Disability' was held within the scope of 3 December Day of the Disabled, with the participation of our visually impaired student studying at our university.
Our students with disabilities attended the 13th Barrier-Free Universities Workshop held at Istanbul Yeditepe University on April 10-11, 2019. The "Unhindered Ideas, Extraordinary Projects" report, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, of which our visually impaired student studying in the Social Work Department of our university is the Project Coordinator, was presented by our student in this Workshop as an oral presentation.
A team of experts in our 'Another Art' project, which we realized with the partnership of Hacettepe University Disabled Student Unit and Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Ballet Department, Modern Dance Art Branch, provides dance and physical activity training in our university gymnasium twice a week for 6 months. were obtained.

At the meeting held with the Erasmus Office of our university, our students with disabilities were informed about Erasmus applications and the Erasmus process.
Hacettepe University Disabled Student Unit participated in the Ankara Regional Meeting of the Disabled Assembly.
Our students with disabilities attended the meeting held at the Higher Education Institution as part of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2019, representing our University.

The 12th Barrier-Free Universities Workshop was held on 10-11 May 2018, hosted by Hacettepe University.
In the workshop, "Access to Technology for Hearing Impaired Students", "Increasing Employability", "Social Participation", "Discrimination", "Course Materials" and "Smart Classes" were discussed.
Attended as a speaker at the "Concept of University Without Barriers: Past, Present, Future" seminar organized by the Barrier-Free ÇOMÜ Student Unit for staff and students on May 16, 2018.
Guidance and transportation support between Sıhhiye center and Beytepe campuses will be provided to our students who contact our University's Disabled Student Unit in the Uni 101 program. Announced.
Hacettepe University Sıhhiye Campus Vocational Rehabilitation Career Development Training will be given on Monday, May 05, 2017 between 13:30 and 16:00.

PEER STUDENT SUPPORT
In the 2016 - 2017 spring semester, our university's volunteer students will be given one day a week by course support.
Student Representative election was held on November 21, 2016, and Şeyma Büyükurvay, a student of the Faculty of Education, Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department, was elected president with the majority of votes.
On November 21, 2016, between 12:30 and 13:30, a Disabled Student Representative will be elected in Beytepe Mehmet Akif Ersoy Hall.

Our visually impaired student Celal Çoban, who is studying at Hacettepe University Faculty of Sports Sciences in the 2nd grade of Coaching, will represent our country in our national team at the 2015 IPSA World Sports Games b1 Futsal in South Korea between 7 - 18 May 2015. We wish success to our national team and student in this tournament.
A survey is organized by the Presidency of the Association for the Visually Impaired in Education in order to develop solutions for the problems faced by disabled people in their education life at the university and to ensure their implementation. A Disabled Student Unit Awareness Seminar was held on 23 December 2014 at Sıhhiye Campus M Hall and on 24 December 2014 at Beytepe Campus Mehmet Akif Ersoy Hall.
Disabled Student Unit coordinator Prof Dr Hülya Kayıhan and Prof Dr Esra Akı represented our University at the 8th International Conference on Higher Education and Disability held in Innsbruck on 22-26 July 2013.
Disabled Student Unit coordinator Prof Dr Hülya Kayıhan and Prof Dr Esra Akı represented our University at the 8th International Conference on Higher Education and Disability held in Innsbruck on 22-26 July 2013. At the meeting organized by the University of New Orleans, (USA) and the University of Innsbruck (Austria), a meeting was held with Ashley Bryant, the project coordinator of the disability and exchange program of MIUSA (Mobility International USA), a non-profit organization headquartered in America. Our request to participate in the program was welcomed, and a consensus was reached on maintaining communication after the congress. It was decided to start an exchange program for two students.
At the meeting, Heidi from Stellenbosch University in South Africa also talked about the model applied by the visually impaired at Klerk and Hanro Lourens universities for course follow-up. It has been discussed that the model is compatible with a 4-step model that we are applying at our university. The steps applied according to this model are as follows.

Joachim Klaus, who attended the congress from Germany, was also discussed at the meeting. Klaus is the director of a camp program for the visually impaired, consisting of computer programming and communication training. Negotiations were held for the admission of students from our university to the camp program and an agreement was made in principle.

"DIVING IS FREEDOM" Project of Hacettepe University Underwater Sports Club (HÜSASK) - and Disabled Student Unit Supported Overcoming Obstacles with Diving Group has been realized.
The 4th Ankara Regional Meeting was held at Hacettepe University.
Universities Disabled Student Units 4th Ankara Regional Meeting was held in Hacettepe University Occupational Therapy Department.
Representatives from HU, METU, Başkent, Gazi, and Atılım University attended the meeting. At the meeting, issues such as the accessibility (visibility) of the Disabled Student Units on the web, cooperation between universities, and the efforts of students with disabilities to adapt to the new environment were discussed.
It was thought that cooperation could be made on the subjects of orientation education, computer use education, and sign language education. In addition, it was decided that students should be encouraged to benefit from Erasmus and Farabi programs. It was agreed that inter-university cooperation would also be beneficial for students' social skills development, and the working style of Hacettepe University's Disabled Student Units was highly appreciated. It was found appropriate to be shown among good examples. In addition, the presence of our disabled student representative has set an example for other universities.
Universities participating in the meeting also decided to appoint a representative for students with disabilities. Our awareness walk in Beytepe was conveyed. It was deemed appropriate to hold the next meeting at Ankara University at the beginning of March.
